Gettin' Crafty

Ok, this post is not really school related, but it does appeal to my crafty side.

One of my friends (and colleagues) decided to host a Pinterest Party.  Everyone brought an appetizer or dessert to share from a pin they found on Pinterest.  The hostess had a craft prepared for all of us to complete.  She had wooden blocks, Christmas-themed scrapbook paper, a Cricut machine, ribbon, and different kinds of glues/adhesives.  I didn't take pictures of the process, but thought I would share the finished project:

I had to do a close-up of the letters so you could see the patterns of the scrapbook paper.  The J and Y letters were made with a glittery, pearl-colored paper, but the sparkle in the letters doesn't show up as well in the photographs.

Even if you aren't crafty, this project is pretty easy to make.  I used Mod Podge to put the paper and letters onto the blocks.  We used a staple gun to put the ribbon on the back.  If you have the supplies and a volunteer to help, your students could make these as Christmas gifts for their families.

It's not Monday, but I did make this, so I'm linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics.

Kel's Kindergarten is also hosting a linky party devoted to holiday crafts.

Don't forget that you can still participate in my Thankful Linky:
