What I'm Reading & Cup of Cocoa Freebie

It has finally happened....I've run out of vacation days.  Tomorrow I have to go back to school and I'm a little nervous.  For the first time in years I have been able to sleep in until 8 a.m.  I am relaxed and don't feel rushed to get somewhere or get things finished, which actually made me more productive in a sense.  Weird!

So in case you missed the memo, it's January.  It's the month where everywhere you turn you are reading or hearing about everyone's resolutions.  One of mine was to read 4 nights a week.  It may only be 5 days into 2014, but I'm 5 for 5 (and twice on Friday).  The reason?
I used to think of Nicholas Sparks as being just a romance author.  This one does have that element, but there's more to the stories that really drew me in.  I think it has 400+ pages, but it was definitely a quick read for me.

So, what's next on my list?
I'm probably a little late to the game for this one, but I just have to see for myself why this is a book everyone seems to be talking about.

So, what are you reading?  I have 4 books on my wishlist, but I'm always looking to add more...just in case.  I tend to like books that fit my genre, which I kindly refer to as tragic fiction.  That doesn't mean the characters have to die.  Instead, it just means the characters are dealing with personal struggles and/or overcoming tragic circumstances.  My favorite author is Jodi Picoult and I've read almost every one of her books (though even she has a couple I won't go near).

I slept later than usual this break too! :) I really liked Tell the Wolves I'm Home-I think it falls into your genre. It's kind of deep, but in a good way!

We went back for 2 planning days yesterday and today (but didn't have to be there until 9). We have students tomorrow - so rough! Luckily, I'm off Friday for a day with my hubby! I am also curious about the Divergent books. Let us know how it is! Right now, I'm reading Illusion by Frank Peretti. It's great!
