I like using those games (& others) for the math workstations as part of the workshop in Guided Math.
Glad to have you link up, Storie!

Primary InspiredAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14038248688102471256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714950119715407745.post-45014266806588013032012-06-15T17:21:57.603-07:002012-06-15T17:21:57.603-07:00My state is requiring all math teachers to take a ...My state is requiring all math teachers to take a math class called MTI. I took it a year or so ago, and it totally challenged the way that I taught math. I've always been very manipulative and concept-driven, but I found I needed to raise the bar. I'm still learning, but I've been blown away by what kids can do. I've posted about some of the computation and problem solving things we're doing. You're welcome to check them out.

http://foreverin1st.blogspot.com/search/label/mathTammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053983168084838303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714950119715407745.post-37879141692946909362012-06-15T13:44:59.568-07:002012-06-15T13:44:59.568-07:00I would LOVE to hear what your state has been doin...I would LOVE to hear what your state has been doing with computation and problem solving!Storiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01245797493016119698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714950119715407745.post-36719198141719868322012-06-15T13:10:21.478-07:002012-06-15T13:10:21.478-07:00I haven't read this book. I love what's going on in my state regarding math in general, but specifically computation and problem solving. I never knew my students could do what they can do. Good luck with your book study.
❀ Tammy
Forever in FirstTammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053983168084838303noreply@blogger.com
